Digital Rights, Digital Citizenship and Digital Literacy: What’s the Difference?

چکیده

Using digital media is complicated. Invasions of privacy, increasing dataveillance, digital-by-default commercial and civic transactions the erosion democratic sphere are just some complex issues in modern societies. Existential questions associated with life challenge individual to come terms who they are, as well their social interactions realities. In this article, we identify three contemporary normative responses these –digital citizenship, rights literacy. These capture epistemological ontological frames that theorise enact (both policy everyday interactions) how individuals learn live digitally mediated The article explores effectiveness each addressing philosophical, ethical practical raised by datafication, limitations human agency an overarching goal within responses. We examine response addresses challenges policy, political rhetoric, tracing fluctuating uses address different stakeholders. concludes a series conceptual ‘action points’ might optimise benefit society.
